Awards

As many of you may have noticed, I’ve not been posting regularly and there are too many reasons to even bother reciting, lets just say life has been demanding my attention…:-)

However, I’ve recently been honored with two wonderful awards which I must acknowledge.

I want to thank Laura Susanne Yochelson for this award. She is an inspiration to everyone who reads her posts.  Thank you Laura for all the great advice you offer!

And:

Thank you Spilled Cookies (aka Cherry Coley) I am thankful for your heart felt blogs and wonderfully uplifting posts.

The rules for both awards ask me to reveal my truer nature so here goes…

My motto for life is: to have something you’ve never had before, you must do something you’ve never done before. This can be an ongoing, never ending quest ;-)

I’m most proud of my daughter and grandson, (he is the ‘son’ I never had) and they have taught me to believe: “There are more things in heaven and earth…Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”

I miss having a horse and a dog. My current lifestyle and responsibilities make both impractical, but I still feel the tug for both on a regular basis.

I am passionate about saving endangered species and the environment in general.

I am not and will never be Martha Stewart, Susie Homemaker etc. I did not take any classes in high school for this and I’ve never worked in an industry where I needed these skills (I’m a terrible cook). My extracurricular classes (interests) have always been Literature, Foreign Languages and Music (I can play 3 instruments; flute, piccolo, and piano).

I love flowers, all flowers, and have many both inside and out. I will post pictures in a few weeks.

I grew up in the Appalachian Mountains, I’m a pretty fair shot with both a rifle and hand gun, I can hunt, fish, (and clean them afterwards-although I don’t enjoy killing anything), as a child I played with snakes, frogs, and had wild animals as pets (squirrels, skunks, rabbits, etc), all this being said: I’m not a country girl at all, I like a clean house, designer clothes, my hair and nails are almost always done and I’m a shoe freak (I know, most women are)

To relax I meditate, dance, and sit on my patio or in front of a fire in the fireplace with a beer or glass of wine.

My rock, my place of sanity and security, the part of my life I protect and hold sacred at all costs is my relationship with William.

And my most heartfelt desire is to share and spread compassion, kindness, understanding, acceptance and unconditional love to all other life.

Now to nominate other bloggers…I’ll be honest, there are too many to list. I’ve found many wonderful and inspiring writers here on WordPress and I wish you all to give yourselves a pat on the back and a round of applause for sharing yourselves, the deep, sometimes dark places where we all tend to be raw and sore. You are the courageous heroes we all need.
