My daughter and I have recently both run into more than our fair share of mean people. This morning she asked me what the point really is in being mean. My personal opinion is the reasons are as unique as the people. However, I also realize the “law of attraction” issue at play. Karma is also an issue. We all have a dark side. We are all capable of being mean. And, what constitutes ‘mean’ is different for each of us.
So, we may not think we’re being ‘mean’. Yet our actions, attitudes, words, body language may all be coming across as mean to someone else. Their perception of us is probably quite different than how we perceive ourselves. So, when we think we don’t deserve the way someone is treating us, the truth is, it’s probably some sort of karma at work. If we get angry over someone cutting us off in traffic and begin muttering expletives under our breath or even out loud in the car, even though no one else hears us, the Universe heard us and we sent the angry energy out. Then we’re indignant when the check out guy at the grocery store is rude, sullen or just not friendly.
The truth is, the energy we send out must be resolved by us. If we allow ourselves the pity party to create the angry emotions then we must resolve them or neutralize them with kindness and love. Otherwise, they just keep coming back to us.
